The CB Photography Adaptive Photography Experience is a personalized opportunity to explore photography alongside professional photographer Cesar Benavides, with the experience designed around each participant’s abilities, interests and accessibility needs.
Before the session, Cesar meets with the participant and, when appropriate, a family member, caregiver or support person to learn about their interests, abilities, mobility considerations and accommodations that may make the experience more successful. Together, an appropriate accessible location and approach are identified.
During the experience, Cesar works alongside the participant to discover photographic opportunities, compose images and operate the camera. Depending on the participant’s needs and abilities, Cesar may position and stabilize the camera using a tripod while a remote shutter allows the participant to capture the photograph without needing to physically hold or steady the camera.
Participants can help identify what they want to photograph, explore composition and perspective, and make creative decisions throughout the experience. The goal is not simply to pose for photographs—it is to participate in creating them.
Cesar also captures a portrait of the participant and, when desired, accompanying family members, caregivers or support persons.
Following the session, selected photographs receive professional post-production editing and are delivered as a finished collection, with CB Photography provenance information documenting the work and experience.
Accessibility is individual. Specific accommodations, locations and participation methods are discussed during the pre-session consultation so that we can determine whether and how the experience can be appropriately provided.
